100 Years Ago May 25, 1907 This year the Whit Monday fete at Campden was on a much less imposing scale than on several recent occasions. There was no procession or other feature of special interest, the programme consisting only of horse and pony races, with a few variety entertainments. The fete took place in Mr. J. R. Coldicott's field called the Leasow, and was fairly patronised, The horse and pony races were under the management of Mr. George Haines (starter), Mr. F.E. Roberts (judge), and Messrs J.C. Coldicott, W.N. Izod, jnr., and A. Spencer (clerks of the course).  more...
