Jack's full of beans for panto

From the archive, first published Thursday 16th Jan 2003.

PHOENIX Theatre Group will be full of beans when its production of Jack and the Beanstalk begins a five-night run at Evesham Arts Centre next Wednesday.

A cast of more than 50 will bring to life the classic pantomime story of Jack, who trades in the family's cow for a handful of beans - setting in motion a train of events that brings him into conflict with a giant.

Fi-fi, fo-fun for all the family, evening performances will be at 7.30pm from Wednesday to Sunday inclusive, with matinees at 2.30pm on Saturday and Sunday, January 25 and 26.

Tickets are available from The Travel Centre, Port Street, Evesham. Block bookings can be made on 01386 765254.

Preparations are already under way for the Phoenix group's next production - Allo, Allo - which will be staged in June. Potential new recruits both adult and junior - to the cast would be welcome.
